Two Million Events Planned at Evite Made 2003 The Year to Party

Los Angeles - February 4, 2004 - Evite, the world's definitive social planning destination, today released internal traffic data for 2003, which revealed 100% year-on-year growth making it the most successful year in its five years on the Web. Evite's internal data further indicated that, in 2003, the site had over 865 million page views, hosted almost 2 million events, and delivered over 65 million email-based invitations. The site also supported an average of 5 million unique users per month.

“In 2003, we focused on the consumer by improving Evite's core invitation product,” said John Foley, president of Evite. “As we continue to make the event creation process easier, offer more designs, and provide more functionality to the event hosts, we are rewarded with more usage. This in turn, yields more exposure for our sponsors, which provides us with more money and allows us to reinvest in our product. It is a virtuous cycle.”

In November 2003, Evite added new features which provided users with the opportunity to create listings for public events and activities, search a Public Events Directory, communicate personal interests through the creation of individual 'My Info' Pages, and the ability to email hosts or invitees through a private personal Evite inbox. Since Evite launched on the Web in 1998, the site has delivered over 150 million invitations.
